Serbian regional differences for Bosnia and Herzegovina

Description

There are regional differences for Serbian between Serbia and BA in their common usage.

  • Serbian (Serbia) written form in ekavian

  • Seriban (BA) written form for ijekavian

The two forms have some differences. For example, ijekavian uses „ije“, „je“, or just „j“ where ekavian uses „e“ as shown in the following examples:

  • Ekavian (Serbia): ponedeljak, sreda, pesma

  • Ijekavian (Bosnia and Herzegovina): ponedjeljak, srijeda, pjesma

These differences impact spelling in the following sections of CLDR data: Locale Display Names, Date & Time, Timezones, Currencies, Units, and Characters.

In V38, we'd like to contribute data for Serbian (BA) variations.
